A few translations:
sand = salad
picks = steak
powder = noodles
three texts cure = sandwich
silk = strips
gruel = congee

I also suspect this is the work of Babelfish. Unfortunately, if you translate every Chinese character into English literally, you do end up with "The bureau swallows to take the fish idea powder." *laughs*

I can figure out what some of the dishes are based on the kanji, but oh man, they need a foreigner to proof-read those things...

Heh, yeah. I particularly love the translation of 干... the character for 'dry' is also used for 'do' in Chinese, and 'do' happens to be slang for...well, the same thing it's slang for in English...

This gives me a whole new way of interpreting the phrase: "The cheese stands alone." What if that weren't poetry, but Engrish? OoOoOoOo.

I really like the "Big the class of (something) in the row of." When the translation itself has more kanji in it, you know they just said, "I give up!"

I'm still wiping the tears from my eyes. Laughing too hard ...

I think this menu might have been translated with the same tools as Backstroke of the West! There are just too many similarities in the translation for it to be a coincidence...
